Wright State University’s graduate engineering and computer science programs have been recognized among the best in the nation, according to the prestigious 2025 U.S. News and World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings.
The 2025 rankings evaluated program excellence based on expert opinions, statistical indicators measuring faculty quality, research output, student quality and post-graduation outcomes.
Seven graduate programs offered by Wright State’s College of Engineering and Computer Science earned spots in the U.S. News Best Engineering School rankings, with the Aerospace Systems Engineering program leading at 59th nationally and the Industrial and Human Factors Engineering program at 80th.
“Wright State University offers high-quality graduate programs, many of which are nationally recognized,” said Subhashini Ganapathy, Ph.D., dean of the College of Graduate Programs and Honors Studies. “With world-class faculty leading coursework and research opportunities, we take pride in providing flexible program options that enhance accessibility for anyone pursuing graduate studies.”
The ranked College of Engineering and Computer Science programs include:
- Master of Science in Aerospace Systems Engineering: 59
- Master of Science in Industrial and Human Factors Engineering: 80
- Materials science and engineering graduate degree program: 107
- Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering: 114
- Master of Science in Computer Engineering: 120
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering: 138
- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering: 141
Wright State’s College of Engineering and Computer Science was also recognized in the U.S. News Best Engineering School rankings.
Wright State’s reputation for excellence was also recognized when U.S. News ranked its online Master of Science in Industrial and Human Factors Engineering as the second-best in Ohio and 34th nationally earlier this year.
The College of Engineering and Computer Science offers a robust selection of advanced engineering and computer science degrees, including 11 master’s programs, three doctoral programs and 10 graduate certificates.
The college maintains valuable partnerships with industry leaders across Ohio and beyond, creating opportunities for graduate students to work on real-world projects. These strategic collaborations with companies like GE Aviation, Reynolds & Reynolds, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Air Force Research Laboratory provide students with hands-on experience solving complex engineering challenges.
The college’s research centers focus on emerging technologies in areas like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and advanced materials, positioning graduates at the forefront of technological innovation with the skills employers seek most.
Recent investments in laboratory facilities include a new advanced manufacturing lab, expanded virtual reality testing environments and enhanced computational resources for big data analytics.

The 2025 Best Graduate Schools from U.S. News also recognized the part-time Master of Business Administration offered by the Raj Soin College of Business.
Wright State’s Master of Business Administration program develops managers and leaders whose understanding and vision encompass the total organization. Students are trained to work effectively within and across functional areas and understand an entire organization and its environment.
Last year, the Raj Soin College of Business launched an accelerated business MBA module to allow students to test out of foundation courses.
Earlier this year, U.S. News recognized Wright State’s MBA program for offering veterans and active-duty service members affordable, accessible and reputable distance learning opportunities.
