Wright State University is ranked among the top 7% of universities worldwide in the 2026 Center for World University Rankings Global 2000 list.
Out of 21,291 institutions evaluated worldwide, Wright State ranked No. 1,483 globally and No. 255 in the United States.
Now in its 15th year, the Center for World University Rankings evaluates universities based on factors including academic and professional success of alumni, faculty achievements and research performance.
The recognition reflects Wright State’s continued momentum in research, innovation and student success. The university’s research enterprise is supported by state and federal funding, regional partnerships and collaborations with organizations throughout the Dayton region, including those connected to Premier Health and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Affordable tuition, hands-on learning opportunities and strong employer partnerships help prepare graduates for meaningful careers while addressing critical workforce needs.
“More than a ranking, this recognition reflects Wright State’s intentional relationships with employers, community organizations and research collaborators who are invested in this region’s future,” said Susan Schaurer, vice president for enrollment management. “These partnerships create exceptional opportunities for our students while advancing solutions to real-world challenges. We are proud to see those efforts recognized on a global stage.”
The Center for World University Rankings publishes the largest academic rankings of global universities. The rankings are unique because they use objective, outcome-based indicators in their methodology without relying on surveys and data submissions from universities.
This year’s rankings used 81 million outcome-based data points, with equal emphasis placed on student-related and faculty-related indicators.
