Tropical Takeover

Thousands of Wright State students celebrate start of Fall Semester with tropical-themed festival

Fall Fest, the annual celebration that kicks off the Fall Semester at Wright State University, brought thousands of students, staff and faculty together for a tropical-themed day filled with fun, music, food and free giveaways.

As a part of Weeks of Welcome, the Aug. 28 event gave students the opportunity to meet student leaders and learn more about student organizations, educational opportunities and services offered by different campus departments.

“For new students on campus this is the first time seeing all of our departments and organizations,” said Charli Sproles, a junior human resource management major who helped organize the event.

Organized by the University Activities Board, Fall Fest attracted about 5,000 attendees and featured 142 student and campus organizations and six food vendors.

“I think Fall Fest is a great way for students to take their campus experience further and get to see what all campus has to offer,” said Sproles.
