Wright State University marked Wright Brothers Day with an event focused on innovation, research, and artificial intelligence.
The university’s annual celebration took place today in its Student Union Atrium. Faculty, students, and local organizations showcased research and demonstrations as part of the event.
The celebration also paid tribute to Wilbur and Orville Wright, whose work, the university says, helped shape modern aviation. The event commemorated Wilbur Wright’s 39-minute flight at Huffman Prairie on October 5, 1905, a milestone that demonstrated the Wright brothers’ progress toward developing a practical airplane.
This year’s event connected the history of experimentation and invention with current work in technology and artificial intelligence at Wright State and in the surrounding community.
