Wright State University helped new and transfer students transition to college life at the start of Fall Semester with Weeks of Welcome (WOW), a six-week program featuring over 60 activities designed to build community and support student success.
Students participated in events such as the Kick-Off Celebration, a class photo, Clap-In and Cookout with President Edwards, a Beavercreek trail clean-up service project, Party at Barty and Fall Fest.
“Weeks of Welcome welcomed our students and provided them opportunities to be connected to campus,” said Courtney Laukitis, assistant director of campus programs in Student Involvement and Leadership. “Whether that is with involvement opportunities, student success connections or community belonging, they will get connected one way or another.”
“Wright State has so many awesome events,” Conner Kiss, a first-year student majoring in communications studies. “I don’t think I’ve got a wink of sleep because I’m here from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.”
