The baseball team held its annual First Pitch Banquet Thursday night at WSU’s Nutter Center.
After starting the evening with a silent auction of baseball memorabilia, current Cleveland Indians pitcher and former Raider great Joe Smith delivered the keynote speech.
“The entire event was another great night for Raider Baseball,” WSU head coach Rob Cooper said. “It was amazing to have Joe Smith come back to share his story with the Wright State community. It was special evening for Raider Baseball and Wright State University.”
The Raiders open the 2012 campaign with four games February 17-19, taking on Monmouth, Bryant and Canisius at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, North Carolina along with a matchup at North Carolina State.
