A talented group of 17 Wright State University students and alumni is showcasing their artwork at the Dana L. Wiley Gallery in the “Bridge EDU: Support, Connect” exhibition, now on display through Aug. 22.
“I felt like this was a way for me to be of service to the community,” said gallery co-owner Dana L. Wiley, who earned her bachelor’s degree in fine art in 2016 from Wright State.
The purpose of the exhibition is to offer students a connection to supportive channels within the art community. Wiley hopes to provide a platform for emerging artists after they graduate from Wright State and to encourage developing artists to pursue careers in the art field.
“Whoever comes into this space, the environment will facilitate the interaction between the viewer and the art,” said Wiley.
The gallery, which is located at the Front Street Studio Gallery at 1001 East Second St. in Dayton, has supported the art community through events and exhibitions since Wiley co-founded it in 2018.
Wright State fine art faculty members Glen Cebulash, Stefan Chinov, Jeremy Long, Benjamin Montague and Kim Vito selected the artwork that best fit the requirements for the exhibition.
The gallery hosted a panel discussion on July 16 for the artists whose artwork is on display. Information on the exhibition can be found at danalwileygallery.com.
