High school students can explore Wright State’s labs and maker spaces during the STEMM Experience on Nov. 2

Wright State’s STEMM Experience will appeal to high school students interested in learning about college majors and careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine.

High school students can learn why Wright State University is the place to be if their future includes science, technology, engineering, mathematics or medicine during the STEMM Experience on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Guests should check in at Wright State’s Student Union.

Space is limited. Students should register for the event by Oct. 29 at wright.edu/STEMMexperience.

Wright State’s STEMM Experience will appeal to high school students in grades 9-12 who are interested in learning about college majors and careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine.

During the STEMM Experience, students can:

• Participate in hands-on laboratory activities to explore STEMM career fields
• Interact with faculty members and current students
• Visit Wright State’s scientific laboratories and engineering maker spaces
• Take an optional campus tour after the STEMM Experience activities

Students will participate in a customized schedule of activities based on their interests. Hands-on activities include:

• The Science of Detecting and Understanding Human Disease
• Technology and Engineering in the Automotive Industry
• Scientific Experiments of the Human Brain
• Applied Science: Properties and Reactions in the Everyday World
• Material Testing and Properties-The Intersection Between Science and Engineering

The STEMM Experience is hosted by Wright State’s College of Engineering and Computer Science and College of Science and Mathematics.
