Nearly 1,000 Wright State students and alumni attend fall Career Fair

Hundreds of students and alumni connected with potential employers and explored career and internship opportunities at Wright State University’s Fall 2025 Career and Internship Fair on Sept. 24 in the Student Union.

Hosted by Wright State’s Career Services, the fair attracted 88 employers who met with Wright State students and alumni about filling roles in their organizations.

James Wingate, a sophomore business management major, praised the Career Services staff for helping him prepare for the fair.

“They prepped us very well. They told us how to sell yourself and gave us everything we needed to have,” said Wingate.

“These events are really important here on campus,” said Kim Gilliam, Ed.D., director of career education and success. “That is what our purpose is here at Wright State — to help students find what it is they want to do.”

Shearer’s Foods and the Dayton Dragons were two of the many employers who attended the fair for the first time.

Jeannene Schaffnit, the plant director at the new Shearer’s Food facility in Moraine, said she was thrilled by the Wright State students she met at the fair.

“It’s encouraging as a new employer in the area,” said Schaffnit.
