Five Rivers MetroParks and Wright State University presented the 2014 Adventure Summit Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14 and 15, in the Wright State Student Union.
Participants could try out free activities such as kayaking, scuba diving, rock climbing, indoor cycling, and yoga. Saturday was highlighted by numerous competitions, including bouldering, canoe battleship, kayak polo, an indoor triathlon and a 5K.
Inspiring speakers, recreational skill clinics, hands-on training and fitness sessions were also available. Featured presentations were made by British adventurer Dave Cornthwaite, who discussed “Philosophy of Adventure,” and explorer Jon Turk, who talked about his experiences circumnavigating Ellesmere Island.
Five Rivers MetroParks and Wright State have held the Adventure Summit on the university’s main campus since 2006.
