Anwari, 22, counts those everyday experiences among his first-ever in America since he moved to Fairborn from his home country, Afghanistan.
The Wright State University student lived a life of danger serving as a translator to U.S. forces in Afghanistan for years. He doesn’t remember how old he was when he first met American troops giving out Meals-Ready-to-Eat, candy and cookies, in his village in Bamyan, Afghanistan, but he was around age 10.
