Kelly Rabah, director of patient safety and quality improvement at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, has been selected to serve as chair-elect of the Dayton Local Program Council (LPC) of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of Greater Ohio.
ACHE is an international professional society of 40,000 health care executives who lead hospitals, health care systems and other health care organizations. ACHE has 78 chapters that provide access to networking, education and career development at the local level. The organization seeks to build relationships between physicians and health care leaders, leaders and patients, and leaders and the communities they serve.
Rabah will serve as chair-elect of the Dayton LPC through Dec. 31. Then, she will serve as the chair for two years. She is a fellow of ACHE.
As director of patient safety and quality improvement for graduate medical education, Rabah is responsible for safety, quality improvement, patient experience and risk management for the Boonshoft School of Medicine residency programs. She also is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology and geriatrics at the medical school.
Before coming to Wright State, she was the founder and president of Gabrielle’s Bridge, a health care consulting company in Cincinnati; patient experience adviser for Press Ganey; and director of patient support services and palliative care at UC Health in Cincinnati. She was a consultative services manager and a case manager of adult behavioral health for Cadence Health – Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. She started her career as a sales representative with Procter and Gamble Distributing Company before becoming a key account manager with Nabisco Brands, Inc.
She has been published in peer-reviewed articles and abstracts. She authored the book “On Angels Wings: A Guide to Chronic, Serious and Terminal Illness for Patients, Families and Healthcare Providers.” In addition, she has made presentations regionally, nationally and internationally. She is in her third year of a doctoral program and expects to earn her Ed.D. in organizational studies, change management and leadership in 2019 from Wright State University. Her dissertation is about the role of leadership, organizational behavior and virtues on patient safety outcomes in hospitals.
