The Wright State men’s basketball team defeated Northern Kentucky on Feb. 15. in front of 6,233 fans, the largest crowd for a Wright State basketball game this season. But before Raider fans packed the Wright State Nutter Center they first visited the McLin Gym for Raider Roundup.
Raider Roundup is a pep rally before the most anticipated basketball game of the year. The roundup includes free food, games, music, student performances, sign making and giveaways.
“It’s a great opportunity for students all across campus to get together and even community members to just celebrate Wright State pride,” said Holley Mapel, a senior marketing major and event organizer.
The event was sponsored by the ’67 Society, along with other student organizations like the Student Government Association, the University Activities Board and Miracle Makers.
Wright State’s men’s and women’s basketball teams are in first place in the Horizon League and wrap up their regular season home schedule this weekend at the Nutter Center.
The men’s team hosts Cleveland State on Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. and Youngstown State on Feb. 23 at 3 p.m.
The women’s team hosts Cleveland State on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. and Youngstown State on Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
