Wright State University students Chris Buck and Jon Nonnenmacher might just have the coolest internship you’ve ever heard of. The pair feed shark rays at the Newport Aquarium in northern Kentucky. Shark rays are large fish but look like a cross between a shark and a stingray.
After taking scuba diving classes at Wright State, Buck and Nonnenmacher jumped at the chance to continue testing their skills in the tank.
Buck enjoys the weekly shark ray feedings as a hobby, while Nonnenmacher wants to turn the experience into a career. Both say they’ve collected some great stories from an internship that’s far from the routine.
