Toward the end of the Wright State basketball team’s August trip to Italy, the Raiders trailed the fourth of four Italian professional opponents. Then A. J. Pacher got rougher.
The 6-foot-10 sophomore forward from Vandalia Butler High School played some physical defense that caused the Italian players, who had been driving the lane, to look elsewhere. On the offensive end, he had three dunks, including a fast-break slam that surprised even him.
Despite the loss, it was the kind of performance the Raiders want — and need — from their inside players this season.
