Wright State donates nearly $5K for Christmas toys to area families

(L-R) Jenna Rigg, Jaclyn Stapleton and Annette McCoy display Wright State's donation of unwrapped toys for the FLOC Toy Cottage in Montgomery County.

The Wright State community gave more in 2012 to needy kids in Montgomery and Greene counties than in 2011, ensuring the success of the annual toy drives for the charitable organization For Love of Children (FLOC) in Montgomery County and for “adopted” children in Greene County.

FLOC estimates the donations from Wright State are worth about $2,200, up from last year’s $1,600 estimated donation value. Toys were donated to the Toy Cottage, a place where struggling parents from Montgomery County can pick out Christmas presents for their children.

In Greene County, 47 children were “adopted” and received toys for the holidays at an estimated donation value of $2,000.

Also, $225 in monetary donations were made to the toy drives by the Wright State Community.Over $300 was also raised from the Alumni Association raffle and was also donated to both Montgomery County and Greene County Children Services.
