Barbara Fowler, nursing and health, received the 2011 International Advocate Award from Wright State’s University Center for International Education at the 27th International Friendship Affair held on April 16, 2011.
Marie Bashaw, nursing and health, was asked to serve on the national Continuing Education Accreditation Committee for the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses. This is her second term of service on this committee. Bashaw’s term began on March 25, 2001, and runs for one year.
Lisa Long, nursing and health, published “Aligning the forces of magnetism to achieve exemplary professional practice” in the Journal of Pediatric Nursing.
Donna Curry, nursing and health, will present “Global leadership and development of the International Family Nursing Association” at the 41st Biennial Convention of Sigma Theta Tau International to be held in Grapevine, Texas, October 29–November 2, 2011.
Tawna Cooksey-James, nursing and health, presented “Raising political awareness and action for nursing and health with RN-to-BSN students” at the Midwest Nursing Research Society’s 2011 conference, Optimizing Environments for Health, held in Columbus, Ohio, on March 24–27, 2011. Sherrill Smith and Detrice Barry, nursing and health, presented “Examining the use of simulation in optimizing students for home health care.”
