WrightCare will offer extended hours for same-day medical appointments in the new Wright State Physicians building on the campus of Wright State University.

Wright State Physicians (WSP) is opening WrightCare, a same-day medical care service, at its new state-of-the-art facility on the Wright State campus beginning Monday, Sept. 17.

WrightCare will offer extended hours for same-day medical appointments in the new Wright State Physicians building on the campus of Wright State University.

WrightCare, which will be open noon–7 p.m., Monday–Friday, offers medical care for patients who do not need a hospital-based emergency department. WrightCare offers shorter waiting times compared with typical emergency departments and free parking for patients.

WrightCare accepts co-pays only. There is no urgent care charge. To book an appointment that day, patients can call ahead between noon and 7 p.m. at (937) 560-2273 (CARE). The facility also offers on-site diagnostic and imaging capabilities, including X-rays, MRIs and Compunet Labs and the Wright Health Pharmacy.

“WrightCare provides same-day medical care in a comfortable, convenient and safe environment,” said WSP Chief Operating Officer Jocelyn Piccone, MHA, MA, CMPE. “And as the region’s largest physician-managed multi-specialty group in the region, Wright State Physicians can arrange for the follow-up care you may need after your WrightCare visit.”

In addition to WrightCare, the 66,000-square-foot, three-story building, located at 725 University Blvd., houses physicians in dermatology, family medicine, geriatric medicine, orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine and rehabilitation, women’s health care practices and WSP corporate offices.

Physicians began seeing patients in WSP’s new building in June. The new facility helps further WSP’s mission to retain outstanding medical faculty and staff in support of the clinical, research and community service activities of the university’s medical school. The Boonshoft School of Medicine and Wright State Physicians are partners in providing training to medical students and delivering health care to the region.
