Tis the season for giving!
On Dec. 3, Wright State hosted Giving Tuesday, a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. It celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.
Hosted by the Student Philanthropy Council and Student Alumni Association, Wright State’s Giving Tuesday event drew a crowd of generous students, staff and faculty. Holiday related activities included ornament decorating and writing thank you notes to donors. Piggy banks were passed out to encourage students to save their change to later donate to charitable causes.
Giving Tuesday kicked off the Fund4WrightState campaign, an effort to raise enough money to fund full tuition for four Wright State students.
Student reporter Reilly Dixon hit the scene to learn how to give back to the community during the holiday season.
