Students in Wright State University’s College of Liberal Arts can network with local businesses to gain internships during the Liberal Arts Internship Partners Expo.
The expo takes place Thursday, April 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Millett Hall Atrium.
Over 30 businesses from all over the Dayton area are expected to participate in the expo. All the attending organizations have internships available for students.
Wayne Stark, director of workforce development in the College of Liberal Arts, is organizing the event for the second year in a row. Several students obtained internships through last year’s expo, which Stark hopes to repeat this year.
While the event is aimed toward students in the College of Liberal Arts, it is open to any student.
“I’ve welcomed students from the Raj Soin College of Business, the College of Science and Mathematics. Anyone is welcome to come, and that’s what the expo is about,” Stark said.
The expo is not only to expose students to internship opportunities but also to introduce the College of Liberal Arts Professional Mentoring Program. The program pairs junior and senior liberal arts students with a mentor who can assist them in their transition from college into the workforce.
