A moving and poignant ceremony took place at Miami Valley Hospital on Sept. 13, saluting and celebrating four inspiring individuals for their achievements in the battle against cancer.
Selected by a committee of community volunteers and area clinicians in conjunction with the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation, the Champions of Hope awards presentation recognized an extraordinary Caregiver, Susan Wright; a courageous Survivor, Cary Dutiel; a unique Person of Inspiration, Sarah Campbell; and an outstanding Medical Professional, William Nahhas, MD.
Affiliated with Miami Valley Hospital since 1983, Dr. Nahhas is noted for his dedication to clinical education. He is the Director of the MVH Gynecologic Oncology Center, and Professor Emeritus, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine.
