Wright State University Theatre sold a record 3,200 subscriptions for the 2011-12 season, which includes “Phantom of the Opera,” “Hairspray” and “Rent.”
Subscriptions are now on sale for a 2012-13 lineup with a more subtle appeal.
Exact dates are still being decided, but mainstage titles, directors and months will be: William Gibson’s 1960 Tony Award-winning drama about Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan, “The Miracle Worker,” directed by Lee Merrill in September; the 1964 musical “Funny Girl,” staged by Greg Hellems in October or November; the Agatha Christie mystery “Witness for the Prosecution,” directed by W. Stuart McDowell in January 2013, and the 1989 musical “Grand Hotel,” staged by Marya Cordes in March 2013.
