Free health screenings, flu shots and more at Health and Benefits Fair

Flu season is upon us and it’s time to fight back.

Free flu shots and much more will be available to Wright State University faculty and staff at the annual Health and Benefits Fair on Wednesday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Apollo Room.

Visitors can meet local vendors from an array of medical fields, support agencies and retirement systems and receive a free flu shot or even a fitness screenings.

“This year’s fair really has a lot to offer. Whether you come alone, with a co-worker or as a whole department, you don’t want to miss it,” said Lindsey Patrick, benefits generalist in the Department of Human Resources.

What you can expect to see this year at the 2012 Health and Benefits Fair:

  • Representatives from the university’s medical, dental and  vision insurance providers and other benefits-related vendors
  • Representatives of area health support agencies, university departments with health relationships and the retirement systems
  • Healthy snacks
  • Great door prizes
  • Free screenings – blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, body composition and cardiovascular fitness
  • Seasonal flu vaccinations for benefit-eligible faculty and staff from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
