Former Wright State University soccer standout Emilie Fillion has signed a professional contract with Dutch Premier League club FC Twente.
Fillion, who played last year for Dayton Dutch Lions FC, will travel to Holland on Friday and join the team for the second half of their season. She was an all-league player for DDL and received national attention for her bicycle kick goal during a game.
“I am really excited to have the opportunity to go to Holland and play for one of the best clubs out there,” Fillion said. “I am hoping the things I have learned while playing here will help me bring something extra to the team. I am very lucky to join such a quality organization and their high standards for excellence can only make me better.”
