Wright State University has announced the closure of Dunbar Library effective March 17. While physical library facilities will not be available, the University Libraries staff will continue to support research and instruction remotely, using Ask a Librarian and Ask an Archivist services. Millions of electronic resources will remain available through our website. Other services will be modified or suspended. Details are below.
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
Online assistance
Ask A Librarian online chat and email service: Open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Our librarians are great at online assistance; they’ve been providing service in this format for over 20 years.
Ask An Archivist online chat and email service: Open Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Research Guides: Start your library research using a custom guide for your discipline or class and contact your subject librarian for assistance.
Research Toolkit Workshops: Our online workshops explain some of the foundational concepts of information literacy that help students in their library research. A variety of videos are available that explain different library processes and procedures at libraries.wright.edu/selfhelp.
Borrowing/returning materials and fines
For those who currently have library materials checked out, most items will be automatically renewed. For non-renewable items, any fines accrued will be waived when Wright State resumes face-to-face classes. Reserve items will be looked at on a case-by-case basis. For questions about your library account, please contact library-enotice@wright.edu.
OhioLINK and interlibrary loan requests
Many OhioLINK libraries are closing this week and as a result, borrowing and delivery will be suspended. If you have a physical item on our hold shelf, please email library-enotice@wright.edu to discuss options for picking up these items.
University Libraries staff will do their best to fill your Interlibrary loan requests for electronic items. Please be aware that many public and academic libraries are closing and we may have difficulty borrowing materials. Items that are available will be delivered to a user’s ILLiad account.
