Women’s basketball team earns top seed in Horizon League Championship
The Wright State women’s basketball team is the co-regular season champions, and based on tiebreakers, earned the No. 1 seed in the 2021 Horizon League Championship.
The Raiders (15-7) will play the lowest remaining seed following the first-round on Feb. 25 and host that team at the Wright State Nutter Center in the quarterfinals on March 2 at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The first-round includes No. 6 Cleveland State hosting 11th-seeded UIC, No. 7 Youngstown State hosting 10th-seeded Purdue Fort Wayne and No. 8 Northern Kentucky hosting No. 9 Robert Morris.
Along with the Raiders, No. 2-seeded Milwaukee and No. 3 Green Bay await their quarterfinal opponents, while No. 4 Oakland will host No. 5 IUPUI in the quarterfinals.
Quarterfinal round winners will advance to play at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis in the semifinals on March 8 and the championship on March 9.

Men’s basketball secures No. 2 seed in Horizon League Championship
The Wright State men’s basketball team clinched a share of the Horizon League regular season championship, earning the No. 2 seed in the 2021 Horizon League Championship, based on tiebreakers.
This is the third consecutive season the men’s basketball team has won at least a share of the league’s regular season title.
Since the current neutral-site championship format was introduced in 2016, the No. 1 seed has never won a Horizon League tournament title.
The Raiders (18-5) will play the second-lowest remaining seed following the first round on Feb. 25 and host that team at the Wright State Nutter Center in the quarterfinals on March 2 at 7 p.m., with the broadcast on ESPN+.
In the first round No. 5 Detroit Mercy hosts No. 12 Robert Morris, No. 6 Youngstown State hosts 11th-seeded UIC, No. 7 Green Bay hosts 10th-seeded Purdue Fort Wayne and No. 8 Milwaukee hosts No. 9 IUPUI.
