Hundreds of Wright State University engineering students took a break and had some fun during an engineering carnival in the Russ Engineering Center lobby on Feb. 22.
The carnival was part of Engineers Week, a week-long celebration of engineering and technology that featured potential job and internship opportunities for students in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
“This is a time for us to celebrate all of our engineers,” said Dani Heeter, director of academic services in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
Students participated in games, entered a contest to win raffle prizes and enjoyed snacks. Wright State’s Office of Marketing provided professional headshots for student’s LinkedIn profiles. Ball Aerospace sponsored the carnival and provided a $100 Wright State Bookstore gift card as one of the many raffle prizes.
“This is an opportunity to reward those students for all of their hard work throughout the semester,” said Heeter.
Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, Engineers Week is aimed at ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.
