Wright State University students opened the Fall Semester with First Weekend on the Dayton Campus from Aug. 19 through Aug. 21. The weekend was packed with many opportunities for new and returning students to learn about Wright State, get involved and have fun.
“Getting to meet new people makes you more comfortable on campus,” said Alex Thomas, a first-year mechanical engineering major who participated in several First Weekend activities.
First Weekend events included Party in the Woods, Do the U, Cook Out with the President, mud volleyball and Student Union After Dark. The weekend also featured departmental and student organization events, giving students opportunities to get to know their classmates, faculty and staff.
“I’m very excited to meet the incoming freshmen,” said Blake Bailey a senior political science major and Student Government Association president. “I’m excited for the next generation of leaders on campus.”
