Thrill seekers

The Adventure Summit is a 16-year partnership between Five River MetroParks and Wright State University.

“Even if you’re not an avid outdoor person, I don’t think you could attend this event and not go away inspired,” said Eric Corbitt, director of the Student Union and Campus Recreation at Wright State.

Two of this year’s Adventure Summit featured speakers were 91-year-old Grandma Joy and her grandson Brad Ryan, who are on a quest to visit all 63 national parks.

Adventure Summit featured 50 presentations from 40 presenters, dozens of exhibits, indoor triathlon, bouldering competition, canoe battleship and a beer tasting.

The event took place on Feb. 12 in the Student Union, attracting approximately 5,000 attendees. More than 100 volunteers helped to make it a success.
