Operation Move-In to welcome more than 1,500 residential students to Wright State’s Dayton campus

Wright State University will welcome new and returning residential students to the Dayton Campus with a full schedule of traditional and new activities during Operation Move-In on Aug. 17–20.

More students plan to live in residential housing this year, with 665 moving into campus apartments and over 900 moving into residence halls, said Jennifer Attenweiler, associate director of Residence Life and Housing.

New and returning students should schedule a specific time and date to move their belongings into residential housing to avoid overcrowding as everyone moves into the residence halls on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 17 and 18. Apartment residents will move in on Saturday, Aug. 20.

“We are going to use the same process that we did last year,” said Attenweiler.

Students and their families should arrive during their scheduled time on campus in Lot 4, where Residence Life and Housing staff will check them in with a touchless drive-through process.

After students are checked in, volunteers will be on-hand to assist with navigating traffic and parking. Students, staff and faculty volunteers will also be available to help students to move their belongings into dorm rooms and apartments.

Wright State kicks off First Weekend activities on Friday, Aug. 19, which are designed to acclimate first-year and transfer students to campus and get acquainted with each other before the Fall Semester begins on Monday, Aug. 22.

First Weekend activities will include the Party in the Woods, Do the U, Movie Night, Mud Volleyball, Student Union After Dark and much more.

“These events are a ton of fun and a great way for students to learn about campus and make new friends before classes start,” said Attenweiler.
