A Wright State University engineering professor, who helped Kroger Co. save $150 million annually through improved pharmacy logistics, is one of six finalists for a national research award
The Franz Edelman Award for achievement in operations research will announce the winner on April 8, who will receive a $10,000 prize.
“It’s the biggest competition in our field, and we don’t have anything like a Nobel Prize, so it is the highest award in operations research,” said Xinhui Zhang, a Wright State associate professor of biomedical, industrial and human factors engineering.
