Wright State, AFRL get $9.1M project from DARPA

Wright State University is partnering with Air Force Research Laboratory and others on a $9.1 million contract from one of the government’s most advanced research groups.

Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency awarded the work to WSU, AFRL, Vanderbilt University, and Ibis Biosciences to test a new technique that could improve a person’s ability to learn. The technique, vagal nerve stimulation, uses a low-power electrical simulator applied to the neck, and is currently FDA approved to treat cluster headaches, epilepsy and depression.
