Moved in: 1,300 new students hit campus

Move-in Day on Wright State’s Dayton Campus began at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, as 1,300 new students arrived at their new home.

Much of the Wright State community turned out to help new students move into 29 residence halls and on-campus apartments.

A total 2,500 students, including returning students and upperclassmen, are expected to fill the residence halls and campus apartments.

Move-In Day included 110 golf carts, a fleet of luggage rollers, about 200 staff and faculty volunteers and 300 student volunteers

Wright-Patt Credit Union supports Move-In Day by providing volunteers and funding.

The first day of the fall semester is Monday, Aug. 28.

Wright State became an independent institution in 1967 and spent the next 50 years growing into an innovative leader in affordable and accessible education. In 2017, it celebrates its 50th anniversary and sets the course for the next half century.
