Robert Premus, Wright State University professor of macroeconomics: “We had stimulus one, but I saw this as stimulus two. That is what we need in our economy. The problem as I saw it is one of credibility — can the president and his team deliver on this? In the first stimulus, they didn’t deliver. Nevertheless, there is enough in the jobs program to think about with payroll tax reductions for both sides in Congress to work on. It’s extremely important the gridlock be broken.”
