Hundreds of used laptops, cameras and smartphones are in the hands of students from Wright State University and Sinclair Community College thanks to a Wright State initiative.
“Everyone that we’ve encountered and have worked with so far have been very appreciative,” said Kenneth Coon, associate chief information officer at Wright State.
The technology loan program was launched by Wright State’s Computing and Telecommunications Services (CaTS) to help students, faculty and staff with remote delivery classes and off-site work.
Nearly 300 pieces of equipment have been checked out, including more than 200 laptops. Around 75 Sinclair students have benefited from the program.
“We’re all in this together,” said Coon.
The technology distributions are held Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the Wright State Dunbar Library.
CaTS staff practice recommended prevention measures to ensure the safety of those picking up items.
