Cheaper gas for Thanksgiving travel

Robert Premus, an economics professor at Wright State University, says a drop in supply caused by some midwest refineries switching to diesel production is likely to trigger a spike in gas prices in the coming weeks.

“It shouldn’t be anything dramatic”, Premus says.

Premus believes prices could also be affected by an unusually harsh winter. At the same time, competition among stations often sends gas prices down, but Premus says that doesn’t tend to last very long.
