With her 18 points against Buffalo, senior guard LaShawna also set the senior scoring record with 596 points, bettering the 588 scored by Jodi Martin in 24 games in 1982-83.

After defeating Buffalo 82-79 in the first round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational Wednesday, the Wright State women’s basketball team will take on the Manhattan Jaspers in the quarterfinals Sunday at 2:00 at WSU’s Nutter Center.

Wright State (20-12, 11-7 Horizon) has won 20 games for the first time since the program moved up to Division I for the 1987-88 season. It is the second-most wins ever for the Raiders as they finished 24-6 in 1986-87, their final season in Division II.

The win over Buffalo was WSU’s first-ever Division I postseason contest and the first postseason collegiate basketball contest held at Wright State’s Nutter Center.

Manhattan (23-9, 13-5 MAAC) advanced to the quarterfinals Thursday night with a 52-48 home win against Sacred Heart. The Jaspers, who led 34-20 at halftime, were paced by freshman guard Monica Roeder’s 14 points while senior guard Abby Wentworth had 12. Junior forward Lindsey Loutsenhizer collected 14 rebounds.

It will be the first meeting between the two schools and the two have no common opponents this season. The last time Wright State faced a school in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference was on December 1, 2007, when the Raiders defeated Canisius 57-40 at WSU’s Nutter Center.

The winner will face the winner of Elon and UAB in the semifinals with the date and location to be determined.

Tickets, which are on sale at the Wright State Nutter Center box office, are $7 individually, with $6 for group tickets and $5 for children ages 3-17. Wright State students along with faculty and staff are free with a valid ID. For more information, call (937) 775-4789.
