Boonshoft School of Medicine Public Health Grand Rounds event to address Affordable Care Act and its impact on Ohio

Amy Rohling McGee, president of the Health Policy Institute of Ohio, will speak on the Affordable Care Act and its impact on Ohio on Thursday, April 18, at 9 a.m., at Wright State University in the Endeavor Room of the Student Union.

Since 2010, McGee has served as the president of the Health Policy Institute of Ohio, a nonpartisan, independent nonprofit organization that provides information and analysis to state policymakers. She has extensive public and private sector experience in health policy, health system improvement and health care management.

“Health Policy Institute of Ohio is the most up-to-date, credible and balanced source for good information on the status of health care and the Affordable Care Act in Ohio,” said Nikki L. Rogers, Ph.D., culminating experience director in the Center for Global Health in the Department of Community Health of the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.

Rogers also is the facilitator for the Montgomery County Indigent Care Consortium, which is comprised of some 25 organizations. The loose consortium was established by public and private agency employees and administrators who are interested in how policy, infrastructure and local social and economic factors affect the well being of citizens and their access to health care.

Free and open to the public, the event is part of the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Center for Global Health’s Public Health Grand Rounds, which seek to inform health professionals about public health topics related to prevention and workforce development. The event also is being co-presented by the Montgomery County Indigent Care Consortium.

Health educators and professionals, students and interested community members are invited to attend. Space is limited. Registration is required. To register, contact Pam Mondini at (937) 258-5555 or pam.mondini@wright.edu. Those who need ADA accommodations are invited to contact Pam Mondini at the Center for Global Health with their requests.

Free parking is available in Visitor Lot 2 by the Student Union. Because of construction at the main entrance, attendees should enter the Student Union from Lot 2 using the northern entrance across from Hamilton Hall.
