Emily Stamas has been appointed director of the Office of Marketing and Communications at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She replaces Cindy Young, upon her retirement.

Stamas has extensive experience in marketing, branding, project development and management, and art direction. She has served as graphic designer and manager of brand standards for the medical school since 2008. Before coming to Wright State, Stamas served as a production artist at Graphica and taught graphic design at the University of Dayton from 2001 to 2005.

She earned her Master of Public Administration degree from Wright State University, a B.F.A. in visual communication design at the University of Dayton and is a certified nonprofit professional.

Stamas is a member of Association of American Medical Colleges – Group on Institutional Advancement, the University College Design Associates, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Dayton Chapter, the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and Women in Business Networking, Dayton.

She serves as nominating chair and member of the executive committee on the board of directors of Homefull, and is a member of the Ladies of Philoptchos Society, Soteria Chapter.

The Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine is a community-based medical school affiliated with seven major teaching hospitals in the Dayton area. The medical school educates the next generation of physicians by providing medical education for more than 444 medical students and 443 residents and fellows in 13 specialty areas and 10 subspecialties. Its research enterprise encompasses centers in the basic sciences, epidemiology, public health and community outreach programs. More than 1,500 of the medical school’s 3,229 alumni remain in medical practice in Ohio.
