The Wright State University Athletic Department provided drive-up meals for 50 student-athletes on April 23. Students who braved the rainy weather received a sandwich, chips, applesauce and chocolate milk outside the Wright State Nutter Center.
“While you can’t really shake their hand or physically hug them, seeing them like this is what it’s all about,” said Bob Grant, director of athletics.
It was the second time the Athletic Department distributed meals to student-athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several weeks ago the department distributed 80 meals to students
“It’s a good way to see everyone and not be in the same room,” said Austin Schoonmaker, a senior golfer.
Fresh Thyme Farmers Market in Beavercreek provided the meals for the event.
