Wright State University’s Homecoming events transported alumni, students, faculty and staff to the great outdoors with its “Under the Stars, Every Star Tells a Story” theme.
The annual Chili Cookoff, basketball games, Salsa Night, the Alumni Achievement Awards, Paint and Sip and a Homecoming Dance highlighted Wright State’s packed Homecoming Week on the Dayton Campus Feb. 5-8.
Homecoming Week was organized by the Wright State Alumni Association, Wright State University and Wright State student organizations.
“It’s so important to stay in touch with your community,” said Lexi Ricker, a 2024 graduate who attended the Chili Cookoff and men’s basketball game at the Wright State Nutter Center on Feb. 8.
Organizers say homecoming is about collaborations with various campus organizations and making memories for students and alumni.
“This is a great opportunity for students to remember Wright State forever,” said Courtney Laukitis, assistant director of campus organizations in the Student Involvement and Leadership Center who helped organize the Homecoming events.
It is the third year since Wright State pivoted Homecoming Week from the fall to the spring semester, aligning it with Wright State men’s and women’s basketball games while also allowing more student organizations to participate in activities.
