Returning to its successful pre-COVID format, Wright State University’s Raiderthon hosted a 12-hour dance marathon to raise money for sick children on April 9 in the Student Union Apollo Room.
“This is what being a Raider is about,” said Rennee Dollenmayer, a senior majoring in rehabilitation services and Raiderthon participant. “It’s about doing things that are bigger than ourselves.”
At the dance marathon, members of the Wright State Miracle Makers celebrated the culmination of their yearlong fundraising efforts with dancing, games, guest speakers and live entertainment.
This year’s marathon raised $32,153.46. Since 2013, Raiderthon has raised awareness and over $400,000 for Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Raiderthon was hosted by the Wright State Miracle Makers, a division of The Children’s Miracle Network, which supports local children’s hospitals. All proceeds from Raiderthon go toward Dayton Children’s Hospital’s new mental health facility.
