Jeremiah Schumm, Ph.D., professor in Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology, discussed his recent article in the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy that reviewed the last decade of the evidence base for couple and family-based interventions for substance use disorders.
Shumm and his coauthor, Molly Bobek, also discussed the prevalence and impact of substance use disorders as they explore this issue in relation to youth with substance use disorders and how the future should include delivering couple and family interventions in routine care for substance use disorders.
Schumm’s interview was part of the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy’s Decade in Review series, hosted by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
