The 14th annual Chili Cookoff, three men’s and women’s basketball games, an alumni beer tasting and a Homecoming Dance highlighted Wright State University’s packed Homecoming week on the Dayton Campus Jan. 21 through Jan. 28.
“Getting to do this is so cool to see everyone come out,” said Chloe Johnston, a senior majoring in history and who participated in the Chili Cookoff.
This year marked a significant change for Homecoming week at Wright State. Rather than hosting events based around the club football and soccer seasons in the fall, Homecoming week was moved to spring semester to spotlight the Wright State basketball teams while also allowing more student organizations to participate in activities.
“It really unites our community and brings us together,” said Kaci Lovejoy, a junior majoring in organizational leadership.
Additional Homecoming activities included a kickoff event in the Apollo Room, Raider on the Rocks virtual mixology class, an exhibition at the Stein Galleries and Raider Open House.
Homecoming was presented by the Wright State Alumni Association, Wright State University and Wright State student organizations.
