Wright State University students opened the Fall Semester with First Weekend on the Dayton Campus from Aug. 25 to Aug. 27. The weekend was packed with many opportunities for new and returning students to learn about Wright State, get involved and have fun.
“These are the people that we are going to spend the rest of the year with and possibly the next four years,” said Noah Funderburk, a first-year acting major who participated in several First Weekend activities.
First Weekend events included Party at Bart-y, the Student Organization Expo, Cook Out with the President, Student Union After Dark with a 1970s disco theme and mud volleyball. The weekend also featured departmental and student organization events that gave students opportunities to get to know their classmates, faculty and staff.
“I hope these first-year students get involved on campus,” said Stephanie Buettner, a junior political science major who is president of the Student Government Association. “Getting involved is what makes Wright State your home.”
