Wright State baseball to take on Dayton Flyers at Day Air Ballpark April 15

The Wright State University baseball team will face the University of Dayton on Wednesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. at Day Air Ballpark, the home of the High-A Dayton Dragons. This will mark the 138th career meeting between the Raiders and Flyers.

Wright State fans and baseball alumni will again gather for a pregame rally at The Dayton Beer Company, just steps from the ballpark, with more information coming in the following weeks.

Tickets are $10 for adults and children. Students from both the University of Dayton and Wright State will be admitted free of charge. Luxury suites are available for $350 (seating for 20 fans).

Wright State and Dayton will face off for the first time since May 2023, after not playing during the 2024 season and after last year’s contest, also scheduled for Day Air Ballpark, was canceled due to weather.

“It’s always great to play at Day Air Ballpark,” Wright State head coach Alex Sogard said. “Dayton is a great baseball town and this will again be a fantastic event for the greater Dayton area. Our players love the experience of playing at a minor league facility and we know that Raider Nation will show up with their support.”

Wright State has captured seven straight regular season Horizon League titles and has made four trips to the NCAA Regional in the last five years.

The Raiders have several key players from last season’s squad returning to the diamond, including J.P. Peltier, who blasted 20 home runs in 2025 while batting .303 with 24 stolen bases to earn first team Horizon League honors. Horizon League Freshman of the Year Hunter Warren, who batted .328 with an .831 OPS also returns, along with all-league first team selections Cam Allen, who had a 7-3 record with a 4.95 ERA in 2025, and Braylen Blomquist, who tallied a .333 batting average.

The Raiders open their 2026 campaign on the road this weekend at Georgia, with all three games set to be streamed on ESPN+. Wright State’s home opener is scheduled for Feb. 25 against Kent State, with the Horizon League schedule getting underway in mid-March.

The Dayton Dragons are the High-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds and are in their 26th season at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of Dayton’s Water Street District.
