CELINA, OH – Wright State University–Lake Campus will soon have apartments on campus for students. On January 20, the Mercer County Commissioners approved the funding by The People’s Bank Co. Weather permitting, building will begin next week and the first building will be ready for fall quarter.
The apartments will be located on land west of campus, which is owned by the Western Ohio Educational Foundation (WOEF). With yesterday’s approval by the commissioners, the foundation is able to finance project through The People’s Bank Co. and will own the apartments. The apartments will be accessed via Dibble Road and there will be parking for the residents as well as walking paths to academic buildings.
The apartments will be townhouse-style and each will have 4–5 individual bedrooms, a living room, full kitchen, washer/dryer, two bathrooms and the first building will have a lakeside view. The apartments will be furnished with chairs, a couch, end tables, beds and desks. Utilities including cable TV, internet and phone line are included in the cost.
Students will be able to request roommates, and the lease contract will be for three quarters or nine months. Room and board is part of their bursar bill with the university. After financial aid is used to pay student’s tuition and fees, the remaining balance can be applied to room and board.
The housing application will be available online for current Lake Campus students Monday, January 24. Prospective students who are admitted will be able to apply March 1, 2011.
