Ohio Enroll America director to discuss Affordable Care Act at Boonshoft School of Medicine event

Hugh F. “Trey” Daly III, Ohio director of Enroll America, will provide an update on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act at a Public Health Grand Rounds event, “MARCHing Toward Coverage—Update on Implementation of the Affordable Care Act.”

The free event will be held Wednesday, March 12, 3 to 4 p.m., in the Wright State University Student Union Discovery Room. Health professionals, educators, students and interested community members are invited. Free parking is available in Visitor Lot 2 next to the Student Union.

Daly’s presentation will describe the key components of the Affordable Care Act related to quality, affordable health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace and expanded Medicaid, and provide an update on implementation during the first open enrollment period.

Before joining Enroll America, a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization focused on maximizing the number of Americans who are enrolled in and retain health coverage, Daly was an attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati for 23 years. He is an expert on Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policy and has worked extensively on health access issues. Daly successfully advocated for policy changes in the Medicaid program, community mental health services and hospital charity care programs. In 2009, he was awarded the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Community Health Leader award.

Public Health Grand Rounds, which is presented by the Master of Public Health Program of the Center for Global Health at the Wright State Boonshoft School of Medicine, seeks to inform health professionals about public health topics related to prevention and workforce development.
