At the age of 15, Eryn Montgomery took a high school film-making class and immediately realized she’d found her calling.
“I was always interested in film, and that year I wouldn’t do homework for any of my other classes, but I consistently did it for my film class,” recalls the Columbus native who headed for Wright State University after high school. “I planned to do a semester at Wright State and then switch to a trade school. But I was so impressed after seeing a Big Lens Film Festival that fall, I decided to stay here. I’d seen a lot of student films over the years and thought these were really unique.”
Now three years later, Montgomery is one of 12 Wright State student filmmakers whose work will be showcased at this year’s Big Lens Film Festival.
