Wright State students, faculty and staff donated hundreds of toys and other items for needy children in Montgomery and Greene counties during the university’s annual Christmas for Kids gift drive.
We Serve U organized the two-week drive on campus and collected the gifts from 18 barrels that were placed around campus.
“It’s in the mission statement to help the communities that we serve,” said Joanie Hendricks, co-chair of We Serve U. “We are just shocked how generous the Wright State community is.”
For Love Of Children (FLOC) will distribute the toys from its North Ludlow Street office in Dayton. Organizers hope to provide toys for more than 2,600 children this year, making it their largest effort to date.
More information on FLOC’s toy distribution is available at flocdayton.org.
